Leading neighborhood group endorses Team Irene — a win for D3 empowerment

“D3 has waited long enough.”

“D3 deserves faster, bigger answers to homelessness and blight.”

“D3 can’t be bought.”

Over and over again — these are the comments I hear from our downtown D3 neighbors as I’ve personally knocked on hundreds of doors to discuss our future together.

“D3 needs someone focused only on D3.”

These sentiments underscore for me why I am so proud to receive last week the endorsement of San Jose’s biggest neighborhood advocacy group: Families & Homes SJ. FHSJ was founded in 2020 and is focused on maintaining (and expanding) local neighborhood control over planning and zoning decisions.

Local control. Neighborhood input. Laser-focus on a street by street, home by home impact of policy decisions on our quality of life. These were driving principles of my campaign against Omar in 2022 (a larger voice for D3) and remain so today (improving citizen input).

Thank you, Families & Homes for your vote of support. It’s a powerful sign that our campaign of D3 local empowerment is full of momentum and on the winning track.
